Complete Dental Care Under One Roof
Most dental practices handle the routine work and refer everything else out. That means starting over with an unfamiliar office, repeating your history, and being treated by someone who has never seen the rest of your mouth.
We built this practice around keeping care connected. Cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions, wisdom teeth, implants, grafting, periodontal therapy, TMJ treatment, cosmetic work and urgent care are all handled here by the same team. The dentists planning your implant are the ones restoring it, monitoring it at recall visits and managing everything around it. When a case genuinely calls for a specialist, we say so and coordinate rather than stretching past what is appropriate.
Two dentists and one team means broader clinical perspective, better scheduling availability, and continuity when one doctor is out. Opening at 7:00 am Monday through Thursday means appointments that fit around a working week rather than costing you a day.

How We Approach Treatment Planning
The Technology Behind Our Diagnoses
Accurate treatment depends on seeing clearly, and guesswork produces both overtreatment and restorations placed on teeth that were never good candidates.
Digital X-ray imaging detects decay between teeth, evaluates bone support and reveals problems concealed beneath existing fillings and crowns, with instant results at a fraction of the radiation of traditional film.
Panorex panoramic imaging captures the entire upper and lower jaw in a single view, showing wisdom teeth, sinus position, nerve canals, jaw joints and bone structure that individual X-rays cannot reveal. This is central to planning extractions, implants, grafting, dentures and clear aligner treatment.
Intraoral camera photography magnifies a single tooth onto a monitor, so when we identify a crack or a failing margin, you are evaluating the same image the recommendation came from.
Oral cancer screenings are performed at every examination, covering the tongue, floor of the mouth, cheeks, palate, throat and neck, because early detection is what determines outcomes.
What to Expect at a First Visit
We plan for about an hour so nothing feels rushed. You will meet the team, complete a comprehensive examination with any needed imaging, receive a periodontal assessment and an oral cancer screening, and leave with an honest, itemized treatment plan. We review the findings with you on screen rather than describing them.
If you have not seen a dentist in years, that is a common starting point here and it changes nothing about how you are treated. We establish where things stand, address urgent items first, and sequence the rest at a pace that fits your schedule and budget. If anxiety is what has kept you away, tell us when you call so we can plan your comfort in advance.
Insurance, Payment and Financing
Decatur Dental Care accepts most PPO plans, is a Delta Dental provider, and files claims on behalf of our patients rather than leaving that to you. Benefits are verified before your appointment so your coverage is clear in advance, and every treatment plan comes with a written itemized estimate showing what your plan covers and what your portion will be.
Coverage varies considerably by category. Preventive care is generally covered most generously, basic restorative work at a higher percentage than major treatment, and crowns, bridges, dentures and implants typically around half after any deductible with annual maximums applying. Many plans include a separate orthodontic benefit that applies to Invisalign. Multi phase treatment frequently spans benefit years, and deliberate sequencing can sometimes capture two annual maximums rather than one.
CareCredit financing is available for treatment beyond routine care, flexible spending and health savings accounts can typically be applied, and we accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
